Gasp! 2.0 Pavilion Model

The dramatic and theatrical design elements of the GASP! 2.0 pavilion by Room 11 is highlighted in the use of strong and bold materials. The use of minimal colour allows the feature window and the waters edge to be the highlight, much like the pavilion as it stands.  The use of resin for the water allows for a fluid edge against the harshness of the cut stone, while also allowing for tonal gradient in the colour to highlight the depth of the water.

The way the light bounces through the space and forms coloured shadows on the ground, highlighted in the model, gives this building its theatrical qualities. This quality is emphasised in the model through the way it has been photographed, capturing the essence of the building.
